Hi! I’m Eri Aikawa, a Japanese-Filipino illustrator based in Saitama, Japan. I create work inspired by fashion, nostalgia, and all things vintage, blending soft pastels with bold, eye-catching colors. My illustrations often draw from retro packaging, old ads, 1950s comics, manga, pin-up, anime, and pop culture from the '90s and 2000s. I love capturing that nostalgic feeling, whether through fashion, lifestyle, or editorial storytelling.
Born in Japan and raised in the Philippines, I grew up surrounded by a mix of American, Japanese, and Filipino influences, from toys and cartoons to magazines and street culture. I hold a BFA in Painting from La Consolacion College Bacolod, and that eclectic visual background continues to shape my work today across editorial projects, packaging, textiles, book covers, and posters.
When I’m not drawing, I enjoy filming art videos and documenting my quiet, everyday life in Japan on YouTube. I also love watching horror movies, collecting miniature furniture and gachapons, playing The Sims, and listening to paranormal and true crime podcasts while I work.
