I was commissioned by Refinery29 to create both the hero and opener illustrations for Lily Chu's book Drop Dead as part of a commercial illustration project. The work involved designing a visually striking and dynamic illustration that would capture the essence of the book and engage its audience. In addition to the primary illustrations, I also created a 3-slide Instagram carousel that accompanied an article featuring personal stories by Sara Tan and Melissah Yang. The carousel highlighted key visual elements and connected with the article's themes, bringing the book's story and artwork to life across both editorial and social media platforms. This project provided an exciting opportunity to blend commercial and editorial illustration in a way that complemented the book's visual identity and narrative.
